Jr. Estimator/Project Manager

Location: Spartanburg, SC

Company Overview:

Southeast Power Corporation is a leading provider of high-voltage transmission, substation, and drilled pier foundation construction services.

We are currently looking for a Jr. Estimator/PM to join our team. This is an entry level full-time position located in Spartanburg, SC and will require business-related travel throughout the surrounding areas. Candidates must be located in, or willing to re-locate near Spartanburg, SC.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Build and maintain relationships with 3rd parties/vendors.
  • Willingness and ability to learn how to establish labor, equipment, material, and sub-contractor requirements based on project need.
  • Able to work with a project from start to finish including pre-construction site visits, quantity takeoffs, estimates, pricing sheets, submittals, managing & submitting change orders, project scheduling, & invoicing and billing.
  • Able to measure project performance by collecting units & creating invoices.
  • Attending pre-bid meetings and job walks to help determine the scope of work and requirements.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimate by working with operations and project management during estimate preparation.
  • Participation in the bid review process.
  • Create & submit estimate reports/bids to appropriate persons (PM’s, clients, bidding competitions etc.).
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet budgetary objectives & adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams & process maps to document needs.
  • Track performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- & long-term goals.
  • Able to read and understand specifications and other documentations necessary for preparing proposals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

  • Work in a safe manner at all times. This includes wearing & utilizing all required safety PPE with situational awareness, driving safely, and following all safety rules.
  • Punctual for all meetings.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS office, are essential.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and grow in a fast-paced construction environment.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Some electrical transmission & distribution knowledlge preferred.
  • Expert knowledge with Microsoft Office; especially Excel & Outlook.
  • Proficient with P6 Primavera & Bluebeam
  • 4-year Degree Construction Management (preferred), Engineering or Engineering Technology.
